The walk from Chora takes 15–20 minutes uphill on a paved path — manageable for most guests in sensible shoes, challenging for heels or mobility issues. We recommend flat sandals, offer optional golf-cart-style transfers where permitted, and always build buffer time into the schedule.
For larger groups, some couples host a welcome gathering in Chora square and keep Panagia for the core ceremony party only. Elderly guests can wait at a shaded viewpoint partway up with a member of our team. Hydration, sun hats and late-afternoon timing make the climb part of the experience, not an obstacle.
Photography & timing
Golden hour at Panagia is non-negotiable for the best images. We block 90 minutes minimum for ceremony plus portraits — including the famous zigzag path shots and Chora alleyways on the walk down. Overcast days can be equally magical; harsh midday sun is what we avoid.
